Based on the corporate social responsibility, the Chi Chi Culture and Arts Foundation commissioned Dr. Di-man Huang, assistant professor of the Department of Business Administration, Hung Kuo Delin University of Technology, to carry out this project "Taiwan Guandu Native Wild Clam Local Creation Plan”."Guandu Native Species Wild Clam Local Creation Plan。
Dr. Di-man Huang led a team of students from the Graduate School of Business Administration, Hung Kuo Delin University of Technology to plan the "Taiwan Guandu Native Wild Clam Local Creation Plan".
The main purpose of this research project is to help Guandu area to preserve the unique culture of Taiwan's wild clams and to enhance the local capacity for creativity in Guandu area.
The Meaning of Local Creation
- Economic revitalization: Local entrepreneurship aims to promote local economic development, create jobs and improve living standards. By attracting capital, nurturing local industries, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, localities can diversify their economies and increase local income and prosperity.
- Community Development: Placemaking emphasizes a sense of community involvement and participation and encourages residents to take part in social, cultural and public affairs. It focuses on building community consensus, promoting community cohesion and identity, and improving the quality of life and well-being of local residents.
- Urban-Rural Balance: Local Creation is concerned with narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas and hopes to achieve balanced development between urban and rural areas. It strives to improve infrastructure, public services and living conditions in rural areas, and to provide opportunities for young people and talents to stay in the countryside in order to avoid an over-concentration of population in urban areas.
- Cultural preservation and transmission: Placemaking emphasizes the importance of culture and encourages the preservation and transmission of local traditional culture, arts and historical heritage. This helps to shape the uniqueness and character of the place, attracting tourists and cultural enthusiasts, while at the same time reinforcing residents' pride in their own culture.
- Environmental Sustainability: Local Creation is concerned with the protection and sustainable development of the environment. It encourages sustainable resource use, green energy and environmentally friendly practices to protect natural ecosystems and enhance ecological sustainability.
Guandu Area
The Kuandu area of Taipei City, Taiwan is located in the northern part of Taipei City and is part of the Beitou District. It is located in the upper reaches of the Dadaocheng River (Danshui River), near the mountainous areas of northern Taiwan. It is bordered by Jhuwei in the Danshui District of New Taipei City to the north, Shezi District in the Shilin District to the east, and the Dadaocheng River (Danshui River) to the west, and the Neihu District to the north. Famous for its natural environment and scenery, it boasts such well-known attractions as the Guandu Nature Park, Guandu Palace, and Guandu Pier, as well as being a popular spot for many people to go to the Danshuei River waterfront for strolling, biking, bird-watching, and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
